We invite you on a journey through Italian creativity to discover the legacy behind Cassina, the meeting point for design enthusiasts, and a series of projects that shaped the history of design…

Le Corbusier 50 is a fascinating story of the famous architect’s life and the meetings that led to the creation of the LC Collection. It is a fascinating account of how Italian style spread around the world, the true value of production and the international distribution of its modern icons. The 52-minute documentary highlights the importance of Italian Industry and innovation through a series of interviews with architects, designers, historians and experts as important as Richard Meier, Philippe Starck, Karl Lagerfeld and Jean-Louis Cohen, and is a rich source of historical iconographic videos provided by the Le Corbusier Foundation and the co-authors’ heirs.

An Evolving Collection

The LC Collection has not been lost in time; through close and continuous collaboration with the Le Corbusier Foundation and the co-authors’ heirs, the collection has continued to expand, offering a complete collection of furniture that represents modernity while responding to today’s needs. The designs are personalized with the standard black leather and chrome versions and sometimes different color schemes that we all associate with these icons today.
The interiors of some of Le Corbusier’s special projects, such as Villa Church, were designed with Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, who interpreted the details and features of the various furnishings to fit the context of the space. This important relationship between architecture, interiors and furniture can also be recognized by the non-standard use of color and constructive details – a key factor for Cassina today.
