Flexform is an Italian industrial enterprise with a solid culture of expertise in the production of sofas and other furnishings valued for their high artisan value. It instinctively leans into the culture of design collaboration, evident in its history of outstanding partnerships with top designers and creative talents. It is also robustly supported by a widespread and efficient international sales and distribution structure, and consistent, wise investments in advertising, research and innovation.
Its brand identity and success are built on a series of shared values that lie at the very core of the corporate mission. Made in Italy, Timeless Elegance, Comfort, Quality, Design Consistency, Modernity, Beauty, Durability. This is the strategic model that has led Flexform to global recognition as one of the great historic Made in Italy brands of quality furniture.
Carlo Colombo was born in 1967 at Carimate. In 1993 he graduated in Architecture from the Milan Polytechnic, but by 1991 he had already made contact with Giulio Cappellini, for whom he designed his first piece in 1992: the Kyoto bed, presented at the Salone del Mobile in Milan the same year.
From this time on Colombo’s work as a designer flowed into hundreds of projects in collaboration with the leading firms in the sector.
In 2004 Colombo was named Designer of the Year in Tokyo. A sort of ambassador of Italian design to the world, he gives lectures and conferences in Israel, Greece, Portugal.
