Oki Sato, the founder of Nendo design studio, expressed his design philosophy through graphics, art installations and architecture. Born in Toronto, Canada and living in Tokyo, Sato received his master’s degree from the department of architecture at Waseda University. Founding Nendo in 2002, the designer creates both architectural projects and furniture designs. Meaning “silly putty” in Japanese, Nendo’s name perfectly reflects the studio’s perspective to shape all kinds of material. Nendo has received many awards including Dezeen, Wallpaper, and Red Dot Design Award.
