Founded by Cesare and Umberto Cassina in Meda, Italy in 1927, Cassina has been shaping the future of the world of interior design for over 90 years. In the 1950s, the company started industrial design in Italy with a brand-new approach by shifting from manual craftsmanship to mass production.
Having received four Compasso d’Oro awards so far, Cassina has gained expertise in carpentry and manufacture of upholstered armchairs and sofas. All products are branded with the logo “MedaMade,” which guarantees the quality and authenticity of locally manufactured designs.
Since its foundation, Cassina has always pioneered research and innovation by blending technology with traditional craftsmanship. Today, Cassina continues to represent new lifestyles and creates spaces that bring together the best of contemporary design.

Bodil Kjær
Architect, designer and professor Bodil Kjær grew up in Denmark but traveled to London, New York and Washington D.C. to study and work. With a satisfying resumé, the designer has worked with many notable names from the world of architecture and design including Danish architect Arne Jacobsen and American designer Paul McCobb throughout her career. In addition to collaborating with prestigious names, she also made a name for herself in the design world and is regarded as a prominent name of her generation. Approaching design with a problem-solving mindset, the designer aims to create solutions for “functional, aesthetic, and economic challenges,” to borrow her words.
